Aboitiz Power Strikes Partnership with LONGi to Expand Solar Energy in the Philippines

  • June 15, 2024

Major independent power producer Aboitiz Power traveled to Xi’an to pay a visit to the LONGi headquarters to discuss collaborative energy sector opportunities. Aboitiz boasts of a widespread presence in both traditional and nonrenewable energy markets, and is the trailblazer in determining the energy landscape of the country. Their visit indicates their recognition of LONGi’s potential and opens a door to its developments in the Philippine market.

The interaction between the two companies resulted in deep discussion for mutual understanding and the expression of LONGi’s commitment to collaborating. Detailed conversations about potential projects occurred between both parties.

During the visit, the company’s senior management team went on a tour of LONGi’s crystal pulling, slicing, and cell process center to fully understand the manufacturing process in its solar energy product. The team declared LONGi’s production facilities to be impressive, and showed their interest in their top-of-the-line products.

The Philippines ironically suffers constant power shortages although it is abundant in sunlight, wind and other renewable energy sources. Its identity as an archipelago makes it an optimal location for distributed renewable energy solutions. The National Renewable Energy Program set a target of reaching 35% renewable energy share in power generation by 2030, to make way for substantial growth within the photovoltaic industry.

LONGi delivers reliable and highly efficient solar energy products in the Philippines in its mission for clean and green energy to flourish worldwide. The company currently aims to expand its business by partnering with Philippine establishments to expand the market growth of renewable energy and diversify the innovative energy options in the country.
