Award-winning actress Nadine Lustre is seeking help to find new homes for puppies she rescued.

In an Instagram story, Lustre said that she came across five puppies that were left unattended in her area on Monday.

“The crew told us that the owner is planning to toss them in the river if no one would take them because there are ‘too many dogs’ around,” she said in her post on Tuesday.

Lustre said she will pick up the puppies from the barangay on Thursday to take care of them for the meantime.

“I just couldn’t stand thinking they might die when I could’ve done something to help,” she added.

The actress said two of the puppies were “already accounted for.” Lustre asked the public to message her if anyone is interested in adopting the rest of the puppies.

Lustre has been practicing a vegan lifestyle as part of her environment and animal rights advocacies.
