MANILA, Philippines — No information has been “compromised or leaked” in a “security incident” that hit the online systems of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) early on Friday, the state insurer said in a statement posted on its Facebook account on Saturday night.

PhilHealth assured its members that “the incident is under control.”

It also aims to get its systems — website, healthcare institution, member, and e-claims sites — back online by Monday after completing “containment measures.”

Meanwhile, PhilHealth said it was coordinating its probe of the incident with the National Privacy Commission, the National Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

Until the systems are restored, PhilHealth will follow the following procedures:

• Members and qualified dependents will still be entitled to the benefits of the National Health Insurance Program. They have to submit to accredited healthcare providers photocopies of their PhilHealth ID or member data record or any acceptable supporting documents.

• Self-earning members paying their premium contributions may pay over-the-counter at PhilHealth accredited collecting agents.

•  Accredited healthcare facilities are advised to continue deducting PhilHealth benefits and devise temporary arrangements with patients who are for discharge so that they can avail of their benefits.
